well its a lovely spring afternoon here in march 2019 im here to collect a ticket from a northern rail ticket machine which has already been ordered on the internet it can be picked up anytime between when i actually make the booking or about 15 minutes afterwards right up until the time of travel to start with we press the button collect tickets it says please insert the payment card and follow the card read the instructions you will not be charged so we start by using the correct credit card which is an american express card pop it in there present card it says do not remove card and remove card so its quite happy now nothing has been charged to my credit card the tickets already been booked im now invited to put in the code which is an eight letter combination of letters and numbers in this case seven l t two b l [Music] j f so its an eight letter combination of letters numbers confirm and it says here from edinburgh to newcastle im from newcastle edinburgh two separate ticke

What is the rule of counter ticket waiting list?

Waiting list ticket purchased in counter allows to board the train. Based on The seat/berths availability, waiting RAC tickets, seat may be available as RAC. Depending upon chance of availability, TC may either allow you to wait on extra berth outside the compartment for waitlisted passengers.

Is counter ticket mandatory?

7. Can consumer travel in a train without counter ticket if booked from counter? No, consumer cannot travel without original counter ticket, because if the ticket has been booked through counter then it is mandatory to carry the original ticket otherwise you will be fined as without ticket.

How can I confirm my ticket in waiting list?

You can board the train though. WL Waiting List meaning that youre lined up to get a confirmed ticket only if one decides to cancel their booking. If the chart has been prepared and your IRCTC PNR status still says WL, you cannot board the train.
