A proxy card will almost always have a different rosette pattern than a genuine card. It can be one thats well done, but different nonetheless. When doing this test, its important to have a reference card from the same set to go back to, since genuine cards can have different patterns over the years.
2.1 Green-Dot Test Within the green dot on the back of the card, you can find a yellow spot. Within this yellow spot, there are four red dots in an L-shape. In addition, the green dot has to be surrounded by a saturated black circle. Also check the previous test about print quality.

Firts take a white bordered card and put the Lotus on top of it. If white shows, the card is smaller than a real card (usually ), then put the card on top of the Lotus and is black shows, the Lotus is larger than a real card (surprising number of early s were slightly too small, especially at the corners).
Proxies just feel wrong the weight is wrong, the rigidity is wrong, the texture is wrong. Having a real one on your hand and a one in your hand should be pretty telling. I would also compare color to a reference photo of a known original because color is usually different too.
Magic has common (C), uncommon (U), rare (R) and mythic rare (M or MR) cards. Basic lands technically have their own rarity (L), but are often marked as common.
This was done to make those cards feel more special, as well as to guarantee authenticity. As such, it makes counterfeiting more difficult. Commons, uncommon cards, and basic lands usually do not feature this security stamp, except for basic lands from Unstable.
