DITA: Hello World getting started tutorial Download OxygenXML. Create a folder on your computer where you can easily organize and access your files. Go to File New. Expand the Framework DITA topic and choose Topic. In either the Author or Text view, create some content. Save the file and called it helloworld .
Create a ditamap Choose File New DITA . Alternatively, choose File New XML. By default, a ditamap is opened in the Resource Manager. You can use the available FrameMaker tools, such as the Structure View and Elements panel, to work with a ditamap. You can also include relationship tables to a ditamap.
DITA maps are documents that organize topics and other resources into structured collections of information. DITA maps specify hierarchy and the relationships among the topics; they also provide the contexts in which keys are defined and resolved.
Create a map On your computer, sign in to My Maps. Click Create a new map. Go to the top left and click Untitled map. Give your map a name and description.
Open the Character Map dialog box by selecting More symbols from the Symbols drop-down menu on the toolbar (if this button is not displayed, right-click in the toolbar area, select Configure Toolbars and chosen to display the Symbols toolbar). Find the symbol and select it.
A bookmap defines elements such as and . A DITA map does not impose structural rules with regards to the sequence of the topic references. However, to maintain a book structure, the bookmap defines rules such as disallowing a chapter element after the appendix element.
Oxygen XML Editor provides a validation function for DITA maps that does more than simply validating that the XML is well-formed. It also does the following: Validates all of the relationships defined in the maps. Validates all of the files that are included in the map.
Create an XML Map Click Developer Source. In the XML Source task pane, click XML Maps, and then click Add. In the Look in list, click the drive, folder, or Internet location that contains the file you want to open. Click the file, and then click Open. Click OK.
