so blue shifts are your second year shifts that you do here mcw itamp;#39;s kind of a really good time for you to grow as a resident you go from the green team to the blue team where as a green resident you get the opportunity to kind of learn more and focus on learning emergency medicine and second year on blue team itamp;#39;s that plus learning how to run your own pod um and itamp;#39;s really a time that i think by midway through your second year you start to feel like yeah iamp;#39;m an er doc we get more resuscitations um involved in all the traumatic airways so youamp;#39;re getting more intubations the number of beds you have that youamp;#39;re covering gets a little more strong but thatamp;#39;s really good for preparing you for your third year and then you kind of layer that in with your base calls which allows you to do running codes over radio nearly every shift so you get really your acls down pat and by the end of second year after youamp;#39;re running that team
