you hey everybody kindred Cooper with Hagerman and company wanted to showcase a piece of technology in AutoCAD thats been there for many many releases but this piece of technology can really save you a lot of time and a lot of headaches looking at your standard everyday drawing whatever it is mechanical architectural civil electrical theres a lot of pieces of information in this drawing that you may want to reuse namely when you get into a title block situation so looking at my floor plan that Ive got when I cycle over to the layout motor the paper space mode in my title block I need to populate these areas of the title block with information either from my drawing or from the objects in my drawing the most obvious case is the name of the file Ive called this floorplan and thats whats already in my title block youll notice it looks a little bit different the reason it looks different is its because its a field of information pulled from the AutoCAD file itself so how do these

To Create a Title Block Start a blank new drawing. Draw your drawing border using standard AutoCAD commands and objects. Enter ATTDEF at the command prompt to insert attribute definition objects. Enter the Tag name, for example DESC1, DESC2, SHEET, SHEETTOTAL. Set any other attribute definition properties and values.
Go to the Insert tab on the top ribbon and click Create Block. In the drop-down menu click Write Block to open the Block Definition dialogue box. Select Objects, then under Base point either enter coordinates or select pick point to allow you to pick a point on the title block.
