4. Does a Blocked Sender Know They Are Blocked? No, not directly. Google does not send a notification to the sender if someone has blocked them.
A hard bounce is when an email automatically returns to the sender. This typically occurs when an email is no longer active, misspelled email, or when someone has blocked an email, this rejection will happen.
To add a specific sender to the Blocked Senders List, click a message from the sender. On the Home tab, in the Delete group, click Junk and then click Block Sender. To add names to the Blocked Senders List: On the Home tab, in the Delete group, click Junk, and then click Junk E-mail Options.
Open an email from the sender you want to unsubscribe from. At the bottom of the message, tap Unsubscribe or Change preferences. If you dont see these options, the sender didnt give information required for unsubscribing. Instead, you can follow the steps above to block the sender or mark the message as spam.
If youve added an email address to your Blocked senders list, they will not get any notification that will inform them they have been blocked. You will simply not receive any of their messages.
The Blocked icon appears next to the senders name in the message list and a banner is added to their messages to indicate theyre blocked. The banner also provides a link to the Blocked pane of Mail settings, where you can manage blocked senders.
