A non-exclusive agreement means that the buyer can work with other agents. An exclusive agreement means the buyer will work exclusively with that real estate agent.
In an exclusive agreement, the specified distributor will be the sole distributor with the right to sell the product within a particular geographic region or within multiple regions. If the arrangement is nonexclusive, the manufacturer or vendor may supply other distributors, sometimes competing in the same market.
How do I get out of an exclusivity agreement? Ask to be released from an agreement that doesnt give you another way out. Most brokers and agents dont want to work with buyers against the buyers will. If the broker and agent are willing to release you, request a termination form to make it official.
