HOW TO USE THE BLACK OUT EYELET ON EXISTING CURTAINS Purchase the Stuart Graham black out lining eyelet curtain in the correct size. Lay your existing ready-made curtain face down on a clean, flat surface. Match up the eyelets of both products. Thread a single curtain pole through both eyelets as usual. VOILA! TOP TIP.
Thermal vs Blackout: What are the differences? The key differences between the two types of curtains are that blackout curtains were designed primarily to block out light while thermal curtains are intended to keep a room warm or cold.
Using Tin Foil Or Cardboard Tinfoil, or aluminium foil, is a common and inexpensive way to blackout your window. Its a great option to go for as its airtight and theres no way to see through it, so covering your window with tin foil is an effective way to achieve total darkness for easier sleeping during the day.
Attaching Blackout Linings Start by laying the curtain face down on a flat surface. When using standard curtain hooks, insert the hook into lining tape and then curtain tape, select the right hook position for curtain pole or track.
How to Line Store-Bought Curtains Step 1: Lay Out Curtain. Clear out a large space and lay your curtain on the ground. Step 2: Pin Fabric in Place. At the top of the curtain, pin the blackout lining in place. Step 3: Sew! Attach the blackout lining to the curtain by stitching a single line across the top of the curtain.
How To Add Blackout Lining To Existing Curtains Remove the curtains from the pole and lay face down on a flat surface. Insert the curtain hooks into the header tape pockets of the lining. Hang the curtains, and adjust the placement of the curtain hooks on header tape for improved positioning and drape.
Lay your existing ready-made curtain face down on a clean, flat surface. Lay the blackout lining on top. Match up the eyelets of both products. The dimensions of the curtain and lining must match exactly, so make sure you order the correct width and length of blackout .
Lay the lining product over the ready-made curtain and connect together using a single curtain hook. DO NOT connect through the gathering strings. Use the slit in the bottom of the curtain tape for a secure fit. Flip the curtain hooks round and hang on your tape track as usual.
