That would be only 2 words that need to be separated in the URL, either by a dot or by a hyphen that does not matter. If you actually own germany.com then you can, otherwise no. The only reason you can have a URL with two .s in it is if one is a subdomain of the larger domain, like germany.com.
Double dots (..) refer to the previous directory, eg. ../test. html would refer to the file test. html in the previous directory. To refer to a location which is more than one directory level up, use a combination of double dots, eg.
The DOT before the URL for Wikipedia refers to the . symbol, which is used to separate domain names in a web address. In the case of Wikipedia, the DOT before the URL signifies the end of the domain name and the beginning of the top-level domain name.
Dots and dot-dots There are two special folder names that you can use in relative paths: One dot (.) always refers to the current folder. Two dots (..) refers to the folder that is one level higher than the current folder.
Its generally better to use dashes (-) in the middle of a URL address because they are more search engine-friendly and improve readability compared to dots (.). Dashes are also preferred for SEO purposes as they are considered word separators, while dots can be treated as part of a word.
In filesystems, we use the double dot (..) to access the parent directory, whereas the single dot (.) represents the current directory. Here /tmp/somedir is the current directory and /tmp is its parent.
Originally I thought I knew the answer to this (uh, the dot at the end means the domain is fully qualified? ). And thats true a fully qualified domain name is a domain with a . at the end!
