Go to Edit Select All; Go to Format Font and choose the correct font; OK your way back to the script.
Go to Document Mores and Continueds and click on the Set Font button at the bottom of the window; In the Font box at the upper left, select the font you want and click OK.
fdx file is text-based (. xml). It can be opened and read in any text editor. You dont need to use Final Draft to read a Final Draft file (as opposed to a closed, proprietary file format, which can only be read by the program for which its created).
Place your cursor in the Scene Heading of the scene you want to omit; Go to Production Omit Scene. This will replace the Scene Heading information with Omitted. Click on the right-pointing arrow to either view or unomit the scene.
Changing the Font / Size of the Header / Footer Click into the editing area below the ruler; On the keyboard, press Command + A; Go to Format Font and select the desired font / size; Click OK to return to the script.
The font used must be COURIER. If you are using an industry-standard screenwriting program this is done for you. se Courier 12 point ONLY. Dont be fancy and use any other font anywhere in your screenplay, even for fun or to make a point. Never use colored paper, or legal-sized paper.
Is there a standard screenplay font? Yes. Screenplays are written in 12-point Courier, or a slight variation (Courier Prime, Courier New, Courier Final Draft, etc). Courier is a fixed-pitch font, meaning each character and space is exactly the same width.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We dont recommend using any font other than Courier Final Draft because setting a script in a different font can cause a drastic change in the page count. Even using a similar-looking Courier font such as Courier New can possibly result in a 100-page (for example) script paginating at 120-125 pages.
