The kitchen foil on windows trick If youre desperately attempting to keep cool, then take a roll and spread it on your windows - especially those that get direct sunlight. Windows magnify heat, so by using foil youre reflecting the sun off the window, sending it away from your home.
Just spray some water on the window, roll out the tin foil directly over the water, and voila! In no time at all, youve created complete blackout, allowing your little one to sleep soundly through the morning, even when the sun is shining brightly overhead.
The static tint is not permanent remove it when youre ready. Easy to readjust If you mess up, the tint is not ruined. The film is removable. The static film comes precut to fit your vehicles windows.
Using tin foil or cardboard can block out light completely, but it isnt a desirable method to use in your room or apartment, and should only really be used as a last resort.
Regular aluminum foil is relatively thin and wont reflect heat for long. That means the heat will start bleeding through to the window pane behind it. Instead, invest in a roll thats thicker and will last longer. Second, consider first lining your windows with cardboard before putting aluminum foil on top.
In theory, the trick should work because glass windows magnify heat, but the shiny foil reflects it, meaning that it should bounce the sunlight off of your windows and prevent the heat from entering your house.
