Binary RGB Colours are created using a mix of three colours, each set at a different brightness 0 for black, 255 for 100% brightness. Red 0 to 255. Green 0 to 255. Blue 0 to 255.
BW = im2bw( I , level ) converts the grayscale image I to binary image BW , by replacing all pixels in the input image with luminance greater than level with the value 1 (white) and replacing all other pixels with the value 0 (black). This range is relative to the signal levels possible for the images class.
Digital images are made up of pixels. Each pixel is represented by a binary number. Consider a simple black and white image. If 0 is black (or off) and 1 is white (or on), then a simple black and white picture can be created using binary.
In binary this can be represented using two bits. per pixel: 00 white. 01 blue.
For binary image, the pixel value is either 1 or 0.It means only two shades 1=white and 0=black. In the case of gray scale image, for example 8-bit gray scale image (2^8=256) pixel value may vary between 0 to 256. Here image is of 256 shades (0=black, 1=white and for others combination of both).
A pixel (short for picture element) represents one colour. An image with a resolution of 1024 by 798 pixels has 1024 x 798 pixels (817,152 pixels). In order for the computer to store the image, each pixel is represented by a binary value. We call this representation of colours a bit-plane.
A computer represents this by using two numbers: 1s and 0s. In the picture, 1 represents the white colour (on) and 0 represents the black colour (off). Go to the Binary and Data Representation.
