in this video ill show you how to block out or redact texts from a pdf for free without using docHub welcome to this video my name is david i hope youre well wherever you are heres the pdf i need to redact some sections from lets assume we want to redact this particular title or maybe anything else inside here so how can we do it without using docHub robot pro dc we can reduct or block out the text using an application called libreoffice draw and this is an application of covered on the channel a couple of times so ill leave a link to libreoffice the whole suite but this is libreoffice draw so what we need to do is we need to open our pdf this particular pdf file inside libreoffice lets just close it out so that we dont get conflicts that another application is using that particular pdf and then go to file open the particular pdf that we want to reduce the text or block out the text from click on open and this is our text so we want to potentially lets say redact

Go to Tools Redact. Choose Mark for Redaction Text Images. Choose the part you want to redact and select. Once you have selected the part to redact, go to Properties and choose the Redacted Area Fill Color as None (or black to hide the content).
Redaction method 1: Redacting a paper document Use the paper document method to redact a scanned file. Print out the paper document. Cut out the text that needs to be redacted. Use opaque tape or paper to cover the redacted sections. Scan the document and save it as a PDF.
How to black out text in a PDF file. Open your PDF in docHubs Acrobat online services. Select Tools, then Redact. Select text. Either double-click to select the text or drag to select lines of text. Redact text and images from a PDF. Launch Acrobat. Go into the Tools menu and select Redact. Choose Select A File and locate your PDF. Select the redaction type you need from the Mark For Redaction drop-down menu. Once youve marked all the redactions on the page, select Apply. Save your file as a separate PDF document.
Click on the Protect tab and select Mark for Redaction. Then go to the page where you want to hide text and select the text. You can also use the Search Redact option to search for a particular word and hide it on all pages at once.
5 Quick Steps for Redacting PDF Documents Open the PDF file with data you must censor. Select the Security tab from the main ribbon. Click Mark Redaction. Select the text you wish to redact, which places a red border around the text. Click Apply Redaction on the Security ribbon to black out the text.
You add a box via the commenting tools. Open up the Comment pane (on the right side), then select the Draw Rectangle tool. Once you draw a rectangle, you will have to change the properties of the text box to change the color of the frame (and potentially change the fill color to transparent).
Apply redaction. If you have multiple paragraphs or large areas of information you want to redact, you can drag and select the text, right-click, and choose Redact.
If it shows blackout/ the redaction sign, it means the redaction is intact. Or you can search for the words you redacted, and if it does not come up, the redaction is undoubtedly in place. Also, you can open the document with other PDF viewers to confirm.
