hey this is cam with Blacktail studio and this week we are talking the rules of epoxy table making and I want to give a quick distinction this is not the tips and tricks for epoxy table making I have probably tips and tricks are great but they are just going to make your table incrementally better a little bit at a time these rules are the things that can cause catastrophic failure that you really canamp;#39;t come back from or you are really really going to compromise the finished product that youamp;#39;re putting out the first rule keep it as thick as possible as long as possible and let me elaborate a little bit on that because that probably doesnamp;#39;t make sense what I mean by that is if you have say three inch thick slabs and you only want a two inch finished table what I used to do is I would say well Iamp;#39;ll just plane those down to two and an eighth inch because I want to save epoxy I donamp;#39;t want to pour three inches worth of epoxy problem with that is there

In XPS, the atoms of the samples surface absorb X-rays and emit electrons, but in XRF the atoms of the sample both absorb and emit X-rays. In XRD, the atoms of the sample do not absorb X-rays at all, they just reflect them.
Electron diffraction is similar to X-ray diffraction (XRD), except that it uses a beam of electrons to obtain a diffraction pattern from the sample of interest [173,191]. It is usually performed in a TEM, where the electrons pass through a thin film of the sample to be analyzed.
EDX is used for the chemical identification of elements and their concentration whereas X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) is used to study the structure, composition, and physical properties of materials under the study.
While XRD identifies crystalline minerals, EDS provides the overall elemental composition including amorphous (non-crystalline) as well as crystalline materials. The elemental composition along with other lines of evidence provides insight into potential processes contributing to corrosion.
XPS is routinely used to determine a) the composition of material surfaces (elemental identification), the relative abundances of these components on surfaces (semi-quantitative analysis), and c) the chemical state of polyvalent ions by measuring the binding energies of elements, which is related to the nature and
C-C peak at 284.8eV is frequently used a charge correction reference because of its convenience. Not always reliable, possibly changing with nature of the surface hydrocarbon, film thickness and nature of the sample.
Appearing at 285 eV, the C 1s envelope does not overlap with most other XPS signals. Carbon in the C 1s envelope is chemically shifted over quite a wide range (10 eV) by the elements it binds to, which allows effective peak fitting and oxidation state identification.
Other Peaks in XPS Spectra The spectrum in Figure 1 includes a sequence of peaks labelled O KLL. These peaks represent the energy of the electrons ejected from the atoms due to the filling of the O 1s state (K shell) by an electron from the L shell coupled with the ejection of an electron from an L shell.
