To add a fill or effect, click your shape, click Format, click the arrow next to Shape Fill or Shape Effects, and select a color, gradient, texture, or effect.
Click the table, then in the Format sidebar, click the Table tab. Do any of the following: Change the outline: In the Table Outline section of the sidebar, use the controls to change the line type, thickness, and color.
Add or remove shading in a table Select the cells you want to change. To select an entire table, click in the table, and then click the. On the Table Design tab (Table tab in OneNote), click the Shading menu. Under Theme Colors or Standard Colors, select the shading color you want.
Add or change the fill color of a table cell Select the cells in which you want to add or change the fill color. On the Table Design tab, click the arrow next to Shading. Click the color you want from Theme Colors or Standard Colors, or click More Fill Colors.
Click a table cell or select multiple table cells. Do any of the following: Add gridlines to the table: Click Table at the top of the Format sidebar on the right, then below Gridlines, click the buttons to add or remove gridlines from the table body, from the header rows and columns, and from footer rows.
Select the cell or range of cells you want to format. Click Home Format Cells dialog launcher, or press Ctrl+Shift+F. On the Fill tab, under Background Color, pick the color you want.
When you Control + Click on a table cell you can select Borders Shading and from there choose the Shading option and apply it to a specific cell or the entire table. For tables, the term shading means background fill color.
Select the Table Tools / Design tab on the ribbon. Select one of the following in the Draw Borders group: Use Pen Color to change the color of the border. If you want more color options, click More Border Colors, and then either click the color that you want on the Standard tab, or mix your own color on the Custom tab.
