To preserve all the characters for some elements, use the xml:space attribute or the PRE element (only valid for XHTML documents). The possible values for the xml:space attribute are default and preserve . The value default means that an applications default white-space treatment is acceptable for these elements.
The simplest way to add a space in HTML (besides hitting the spacebar) is with the non-breaking space entity, written as nbsp; or #160;.
Add Space in HTML: Break () Tag If you want to prevent a line break between two words, use a non-breaking space. If you want to insert a line break, use the HTML break tag, written as . You dont need a closing tag here just writing adds a line break.
1 Answer. The onkeypress event handler checks the ASCII code of the character being typed, and if its 32 (the ASCII code for the space character), it returns false , which means the space wont be entered into the input field.
The HTML/XHTML standard tag and its required end tag ( ) define a segment inside which the browser renders text in exactly the character and line spacing written in the source document. Normal word wrapping and paragraph filling are disabled, and extraneous leading and trailing spaces are honored.
A commonly used HTML entity is the non-breaking space: nbsp; A non-breaking space is a space that will not break into a new line. Two words separated by a non-breaking space will stick together (not break into a new line).
Setting padding to 0px of the parent paragraph tag will remove the space between parent and child paragraphs if one is inside of another. But If padding of parent is already zero then and still there is space then setting margin to zero of children paragraph tag will remove the space.
In HTML, any blank space we type in HTML other than a single space between two words is ignored. We can use non-breaking space (nbsp;) or other entities like en space (ensp;), em space (emsp;), thin space (thinsp;) to put more than one space adjacently in HTML.
