weamp;#39;d like to welcome all of you to this monthamp;#39;s T sub G seminar series on resilient power grids as you know we get together on the first Friday of every month in order to bring in a speaker of national renown to talk on this topic which we think is is is a really important topic and continues to grow in importance we have had up to now in our series external speakers external from the teeth of G Center but today Iamp;#39;m really pleased to be able to introduce Tom Overby as our speaker Tom overbee is one of the principal faculty members in our T sub G Center heamp;#39;s the Fox family professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois and Tom was one of the people that was on the ground in the commission that was investigating the August 2003 blackout so he has first-hand knowledge of what happened there he was a key person in writing up the report the very long report that ensued from that event and weamp;#39;ve asked Tom to come back an
