Iamp;#39;d really really like to be able to turn off dark mode here in my Microsoft Word Iamp;#39;m using word 365. it was nice for a while but I want my old screen back to do that hereamp;#39;s what you do you go to file and then you go all the way down to account in an account youamp;#39;ll see here office background donamp;#39;t want that we want the office theme so instead of black letamp;#39;s change it to gray see what that looks like thatamp;#39;s kind of nice but letamp;#39;s set it back to that factory default of white so we switch it back to White and then hit escape and we have turned off dark mode weamp;#39;ve switched it off shut it off shut it down thatamp;#39;s it so to show you that one more time you go to file account office theme and choose the theme that you would like to have there colorful it doesnamp;#39;t do anything there we go this is Dr B turning off dark mode in Microsoft Word thanks for watching

Click and drag your cursor across the text you want to redact to do so. drop-down arrow to the right of the ab highlighter bar, which is in the Font section of the Home tab. A drop-down menu with different colored boxes will appear. Click the black box.
Method 1: Making use of the redact feature in word When you redact a section of a document in Word, it is permanently blacked out or removed, and the original text cannot be retrieved. This is useful for ensuring that sensitive information is not accidentally shared or exposed.
Go to Settings Masking. Under Masking mode, select a masking mode. Strict: The entire text is masked. Balanced: Only sensitive text is masked.
On the Word menu, click Preferences. Under Personal Settings, click Security . Under Privacy options, select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the document. Notes: The following personal information is removed from your file:
Blacking Out Text Manually Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the ab highlighter icon in the Font section. Click the black box in the drop-down menu. Click the black line below the highlighter icon. Repeat this process of highlighting with black to cover text.
Redaction Tool For Microsoft Word To use the redaction tool in Word, you first need to select the text or images that you want to redact. Then, go to the Review tab in the ribbon and click on the Redact button. This will open the Redaction pane on the right side of the window.
