Since Google Drive is connected to your email and all your devices, its not the safest place to store your passwords. Instead, you should store your passwords on a dedicated and highly-secure digital storage platform like Trustworthy. Trustworthy is a cloud-based storage system that uses bank-level security.
For many companies, this information is sensitive or proprietary and needs to be secured, which can lead people to wonder if its possible to password protect Google Sheets. Google Sheets currently doesnt have a password protection feature, but you can put protections on your sheets or parts of a sheet.
Alternatively, to upload an encrypted file, you can log into drive.google.com. Once there, click on the + to upload a file, and click Encrypt and Upload File. This process will encrypt a file as you upload it, so its encrypted in your Drive. Note: Even Google cannot decrypt files uploaded this way.
Protect a document with a password Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Type a password, press OK, type it again and press OK to confirm it. Save the file to make sure the password takes effect.
Select File Info. Click on the Protect Document drop-down menu, and choose Encrypt with Password.
Click on Info. On the right side, click the Protect document menu. Select the Encrypt with Password option. Type a password to protect the document.
One-click option to protect a PDF with a password Open the PDF in Acrobat. Do any of the following: Go to All tools Protect a PDF Protect with password. In the Protect Using Password dialog box, select if you want to set the password for viewing or editing the PDF. Type and retype your password. Select Apply.
To lock a file in Google Drive, right-click the file, select File information, and click Lock. A pop-up window will confirm that you want to lock the file.
