With XHTML, put the end inside the start tag: .
An opening tag begins a section of page content, and a closing tag ends it. For example, to markup a section of text as a paragraph, you would open the paragraph with an opening paragraph tag and close it with a closing paragraph tag (closing tags always proceed the element with a /).
It defines a paragraph of text. The end of the paragraph is marked by a closing tag. By default, most browsers place a line break and a blank line between paragraphs.
In HTML, a closing tag is an instructional piece of code that ends a section of page content. Its nearly the same as an opening tag (e.g., ) but it has a forward slash (e.g., ) to let browsers know where to start and end different elements.
In HTML and XHTML, each paragraph should start with and end with the corresponding tag. And while a sequence of newline characters in a text processor-displayed document creates an empty paragraph for each one, browsers typically ignore all but the first paragraph tag.
To insert a line break: Type where the line break should occur.
Paragraphs are block-level elements, and notably will automatically close if another block-level element is parsed before the closing tag.
The HTML element defines a paragraph. A paragraph always starts on a new line, and browsers automatically add some white space (a margin) before and after a paragraph.
