A blackout period is a policy or rule setting a time interval during which certain actions are limited or denied. It is most commonly used to prevent company insiders from trading stock based on insider knowledge.
Cut-out (literally) all the text to be redacted and properly dispose of (shred) the clippings. This method will always be 100% effective. Use opaque (100% impenetrable by light; neither transparent nor translucent) tape or paper to cover over the sections to be redacted.
To use the redaction tool in Word, you first need to select the text or images that you want to redact. Then, go to the Review tab in the ribbon and click on the Redact button. This will open the Redaction pane on the right side of the window.
