Yellow lines separate traffic flowing in opposite directions. Drivers should stay to the right of yellow lines. A solid yellow line indicates that passing is prohibited. A dashed yellow line indicates that passing is allowed.
Double yellow kerb markings Single yellow kerb markings. Waiting restrictions indicated by yellow lines apply to the carriageway, pavement and verge. You may stop to load or unload (unless there are also loading restrictions) or while passengers board or alight.
Yellow: Stop only long enough to load or unload passengers. Drivers are usually required to stay with their vehicle. Red: No parking. Red curb may also be used in NO STOPPING or NO STANDING zones in conjunction with the appropriate signs.
Standard: If raised pavement markers are used to substitute for broken line markings, a group of three to five markers equally spaced at a distance no greater than N/8 (see Section 3B. 11) shall be used.
Different states may have several allowed pavement marking removal methods in their arsenal. In Maryland, the first available method is manual removal. One can use a scraper or putty knife. This option makes the most sense if you are removing temporary pavement striping tape.
Yellow. Yellow curbs are similar to white curbs, but they most often serve as commercial loading zones. Only trucks and commercial vehicles are permitted to stop in these zones to load or unload materials, goods and merchandise. Parking may only be restricted in these zones during certain days and hours.
Parking at Colored Curbs Green: Park for a limited time. The time limit may be posted on signs or painted on the curb. Yellow: Load and unload passengers and freight. Do not stop longer than the time posted.
