Black-ink users think with their heads, have a more dominant personality, and like to be in charge of their lives. They can be a little uptight and somewhat reserved in showing emotions. Red-ink people like being the center of attention. They are energetic, emotionally passionate, and enjoy the limelight.

Banks prefer blue because it's easier to verify that the signature is legitimate and the documents are original when they're signed in blue ink. Unlike black ink, a blue ink signature isn't as easy to reproduce.
The data showed that red ink is the best ink color when trying to memorize anything. On average, when trying to memorize the numbers in black ink, students could only memorize 4.1 numbers. When trying to memorize the numbers in the blue ink, students on average could only remember 4.0 numbers.
While both are acceptable, many people consider blue the optimal choice. The reasoning behind this is that the color will stand out among the walls of black text on the document while still being dark enough to read. Blue ink also indicates that the document is an original and not a copy.
The answer is simple. Black ink is still the best pen for signature on most legal documents. Despite blue ink's popularity, most professional documents and forms require us to use black ink. If you're applying for a new job, for instance, you may have to use a black ink pen.
Most commonly, either blue or black ink is used for signing documents. While both are acceptable, many people consider blue the optimal choice. The reasoning behind this is that the color will stand out among the walls of black text on the document while still being dark enough to read.

Notarizing: Although there is no law about which ink color should be used to notarize documents (in fact, a law requiring that notary public signatures be in black was repealed in 20131) most notaries prefer blue ink. It's easy to tell an original from a copy.
Based on my investigation, there is no one ink color that enhances memory retention. (As of now, there are not many studies on the correlation between ink color and recall memory, but we can make some conclusions.) It's obvious that plain black notes won't stimulate your attention levels to the fullest.
