Some photographers work 40 hours a week( and up to 60-80+ hours a week during busy season), while some full time photographers are only working 30 hours a month(me). How many hours you work all depends on how important that work life balance is to you and your long term goals for your photography business.
I would suggest that you introduce yourself to the photographer, tell him you are interested in learning/watching him work and then take your cues from there. If it were me, Id be more than happy to let you in on some stuff and get some shots for yourself.
8 8.5 Hours These are ideal times for each section of the day where a wedding is taking place entirely in one location.
We prefer if you can spend at least 20-30 minutes per location, so Kyo has enough time to help you relax, have fun together, and get beautiful, natural portraits of the two of you. As we just said, more time (an hour or more) is always better, if your schedule allows!
But as someone whos hosted over 1,000 weddings, I will tell you Six hours is about the most weddings guests have in them. Any wedding over six hours can be dreadful for guests. And that includes everything from the ceremony to your grand exit. Most wedding vendors also start their packages at five hours.
It all depends on what you want photographed. A 6 hour package will cover the main events, like the ceremony, family/bridal party formals, bride and groom formals, and the start of the reception, but it really wont cover much beyond that.
If youve chosen not to do a first look, the cocktail will be our prime opportunity for your portraits, bridal party shots, and family photos. I suggest photographing family first (20-30 minutes), bridal party second (15-20 minutes), and your portraits third (30-45 minutes).
Yes, 6 hours of wedding photography coverage is enough for most couples. Youll have enough time to capture the most important moments from your special day. Six hours of wedding photography coverage will be enough time to document these memories: Details.
