Light blinking, when it is plugged in, it means the charger is defective. Replace or borrow another to confirm. If the charger indicator LED on the laptop is blinking (while the charger LED itself is on and plugged into the laptop properly) then most likely the power jack is bad.
If it is blinking red, typically it means battery is ruunning low. However, not every brand of laptops use the same blinking indicator, so it is best that you reference the computers manual.
Perform a hard reset. Inspect the AC adapter, cables, and adapter (DC) port on the laptop for damages. Verify that the wall outlet is working correctly. Check LED indicator on AC adapter. Connect a known-good AC adapter. Disconnect the laptop from the docking station (if applicable) Run a diagnostic test on the system board.
