Traditionally, a white flag is a sign of surrender.

Since its adoption by the United States Federal Council of Churches in 1942, it has been used by congregations of many Christian traditions, including Anglican, Baptist, Congregationalist, Lutheran, Mennonite, Methodist, Moravian, Presbyterian, and Reformed, among others.
Each of the colors used in the Christian flag has a symbolic meaning. Red stands for sacrifice and represents the teaching of the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross to redeem the world. Blue stands for fidelity, or faithfulness and loyalty. White stands for purity and peace.
