How to Redact an Email Step 1: Review the email content and attachments: Step 2: Identify the specific information to be redacted: Step 3: Select appropriate redaction techniques and tools: Step 4: Implement redaction effectively while preserving document integrity:
Redaction. While Gmail doesnt offer native redaction features, it does offer a recall or Unsend function. This is a useful ability to know about in extreme cases, such as when an email containing unredacted or incorrectly redacted documents has been sent by mistake.
Masking modes Go to Settings Masking. Under Masking mode, select a masking mode. Strict: The entire text is masked. Balanced: Only sensitive text is masked. Upon selecting a masking mode, you can view a message as Masking mode set on top of the screen.
if text is still present that needs redacting right click the word (or make a selection) and right click and choose redact.
Email redaction removes sensitive information from emails before they are shared with anyone outside the organization. This is done to maintain the data security and privacy of the entire document, protect email messages, or comply with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
