The purpose of redaction is to obscure your confidential data so that it cannot be accessed by unauthorized viewers. You may want to black out text in PDF files for the following reasons: Hiding personal, financial, legal, medical, and other confidential information from being seen; Following privacy regulations.
Redact information from a PDF. When you redact information from a PDF, you permanently remove text from the document. While it might just look like a simple strikethrough, redacting a PDF does much more. Not only can the viewer no longer see the information, but they also cant edit the document to get it back.
Blacking Out Text Manually Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the ab highlighter icon in the Font section. Click the black box in the drop-down menu. Click the black line below the highlighter icon. Repeat this process of highlighting with black to cover text.
It is vital to guarantee the confidentiality and integrity of essential records because so much sensitive information is transmitted and stored online. Blacking out is the method of redacting or obfuscating specific portions of a full PDF file or document to protect sensitive information.
To do this, navigate to Tools and select Redact Redact Text Images Find Text Redact. This makes it easy to identify and then black out that content throughout the document. You can also specify general patterns, such as phone, Social Security, or credit card numbers.
Then, go into Edit Mode and follow these steps to select text or images and redact them. Select Tools Redact. Step # 3: Highlight the text you want to black out. Step # 4: Right-click on the highlighted text and select Properties from the dropdown menu. Step # 5: In the Properties window, click on the Fill tab. Step # 6: Choose the color you want to use to black out the text.
