Welcome to the Smoke Learning Channel. This video series deals with working on various CGI render passes in Autodesk Smoke. In the previous section, we used a motion vector pass supplied from Autodesk Maya to apply post motion blur to our CGI Robot. Lets look at a different situation where you have been supplied the CGI element but no motion vector has been supplied for motion blurring. In this case, we can use Smoke to do a motion analysis to produce a motion vector pass. Please be aware that this is not 100 percent bullet proof but it might be very useful in most situations. Once again in the Default library, go to the Shot 1 folder. Hold COMMAND and click on the BEAUTY BALL render pass and the MATTEBALL render pass. Drag the selection into the ConnectFX schematic near the robot CGI elements. Press the FX NODES button to toggle to the ConnectFX node bin. Hover over the node bin and press M to bring up the MOTION ANALYSIS. Drag out the MOTION ANALYSIS node and place it in front of t
