Blackout tattoos tend to be more painful than the average tattoo, because they require the tattoo artist to fully saturated the entire area with black ink. Blackout tattoos can also be more time consuming because of the amount of ink that has to go into a pretty large area.
Keep applying the antibiotic cream ONLY in the crease areas (IF any) twice per day. Do NOT apply any moisturizer or lotion or ointment over the tattoo. After the peeling has started you can finally get your tattoo wet in the shower again (shower only no soaking).
Modern blackout tattoos are influenced by traditional Polynesian tattoos and graphic art. Their designs also often incorporate aspects of neo-tribal tattoos. The technique originated as an alternative method of covering up unwanted tattoos, instead of the more expensive tattoo removal.
For almost all full color/ black saturation it is not only recommended, but expected to do a second pass, you move faster, cause less trauma, and get a much smoother result.
Healing Blackout Tattoos There might be more pain and peeling due to the amount of skin saturated with ink, but they should still only take a few weeks to heal. Clients should expect to see more swelling due to the added trauma of a blackout tattoo.
However, blackout tattoos tend to be a bit more painful than regular designs. A blackout does generally require time to complete, Paulino says. More time under the needle can definitely cause more pain simply because the tattoo is taking longer to complete.
If youre going for 100% removal, it really is possible! Ok, some ink particles may still be there after several sessions and recoveries, but that faint shadow of the original tattoo is less of a big deal.
