The @helper syntax within Razor enables you to easily create re-usable helper methods that can encapsulate output functionality within your view templates. They enable better code reuse, and can also facilitate more readable code.
For example Hello . Identifies a member or property of the current component that should hold a reference to an HTML element or component that will be rendered.
This @model directive allows access to the movie that the controller passed to the view. The Model object is strongly typed. For example, in the Details. cshtml view, the code passes each movie field to the DisplayNameFor and DisplayFor HTML Helpers with the strongly typed Model object.
The @inherits directive is used to specify a base class for a component. Unlike using partial classes, which only split markup from C# logic, using a base class allows you to inherit C# code for use across a group of components that share the base classs properties and methods.
The @model directive specifies the type of the Model property. The directive specifies the T in RazorPage that the generated class that the view derives from. If the @model directive isnt specified, the Model property is of type dynamic .
This is done by the Razor markup, which allows us to use C# code in an HTML file. The Razor View Engine process these markups to get the HTML. The files which contains Razor markup have a. cshtml file extension. The Razor syntax is shorter, simpler and straightforward to find out because it uses the C# or visual basic.
In a Razor view page (. cshtml), the @page directive indicates that the file is a Razor Page. In order for the page to be treated as a Razor Page, and have ASP.NET parse the view syntax with the Razor engine, the directive @page should be added at the top of the file.
What makes it different is the @page directive. @page makes the file into an MVC action, which means that it handles requests directly, without going through a controller. @page must be the first Razor directive on a page. @page affects the behavior of other Razor constructs.
