Blacking Out Text Manually Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the ab highlighter icon in the Font section. Click the black box in the drop-down menu. Click the black line below the highlighter icon. Repeat this process of highlighting with black to cover text.
Highlight the portion of text that you want to hide. Right-click the highlighted text, then select Font. In the Font dialog box, go to the Font tab. In the Effects section, select the Hidden check box.
Select the text that needs to be redacted. You can do this by using the mouse to highlight the text, or by using keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl + A to select all the text in a document. Use the formatting tools in your word processor to obscure or remove the selected text.
Place the cursor next to the text then press Backspace key. Place the cursor to the left of the text then press Delete key. Select the text and press the Backspace or Delete key.
