hi everyone i have a fun little app to test right behind me you see this little input box where you can enter any zip code and imagine you are writing some kind of delivery program and you deliver to some zip codes but not to others so for example you donamp;#39;t deliver to 999 you donamp;#39;t deliver to you know one one but if you enter 90210 then itamp;#39;s supported so imagine i give you a list of zip codes and i ask you to verify that it delivers to certain zip codes but not others so how would you check that so we have a list of zip codes to check so why donamp;#39;t we for each zip right take it and you know what do we have to do as a user we have to enter it we input box then we have to make sure that it shows either thumbs down or a check mark and then store with zip code either in the list of supported zip codes or unsupported zip codes so iamp;#39;ll say delivers so this will be the ones from this list that the app delivers and the list of the codes that we donamp;#3

When it comes to USA zip codes, they are always 5 digits long. However, sometimes these codes may also include leading zeros. If you store these zip codes as integers, any leading zeros would be stripped, resulting in missing data. As such, its usually better to store zip codes as 5 character strings.
Zip code. Since all postal codes are not numbers-only like US zip codes, use input type=text and set the pattern attribute to enable the numbers keyboard.
A ZIP+4 Code is a 4-digit code appended to a standard 5-digit ZIP that helps the USPS sort, route, and deliver mail more efficiently. The last 4 digits of these 9-digit ZIP Codes usually represent 6-20 delivery points on a USPS carrier route.
Introduced on July 1, 1963, the basic format comprised five digits. In 1983, an extended code was introduced named ZIP+4 ; it included the five digits of the ZIP Code, followed by a hyphen and four digits that designated a more specific location.
However, some places use an alphanumeric postal code system, including Argentina, Canada, the UK, Brunei, Malta and the Netherlands. Alphanumeric systems make it possible to code many more addresses in one place, because you can build more variations using letters and numbers together, than from numbers alone.
ZIP Codes are numbered with the first digit representing a certain group of U.S. states, the second and third digits together representing a region in that group (or perhaps a large city) and the fourth and fifth digits representing a group of delivery addresses within that region.
What data type is a zip code? Storing a zip code as a numeric value is not the answer. In SQL, a zip code should typically be stored as a VARCHAR data type rather than an integer to preserve leading zeros and accommodate alphanumeric formats.
