Even the best binders can cause bruises or sores if you wear them too much. Take your binder off at night, just like other daytime clothing. Take breaks during the week. Avoid binding 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For brevity, here are some of the most popular ones: Cracker crumbs. Eggs. Evaporated milk. Gelatin. Ground flax. Guar gum. Oatmeal. Milk.
A binder that is too large will not flatten the chest enough. A binder that is too small can pinch and become uncomfortable or even dangerous. The best way to find the right size is to take your measurements and compare these with the size chart. You will need a tape measure, and possibly someone who can help you.
Try a Compression Top A new, safer alternative to chest binding is the use of a compression top. Compression tops are built from gentler fabrics than most other binders on the market right now.
How to put on a binder Flip the binder inside out. Then turn it upside down and step into it like youre putting on a pair of shorts. Pull the binder over your hips until it docHubes your chest. Put your arms through the arm holes. Adjust the binder.
The trick is, if you wear two sports bras, and turn the outer one inside out, it does a fairly good job of binding, and ive used it quite often.
As an alternative to a dedicated binder, a good sports bra with high compression can serve as a binder. Sports bras wont provide as much compression as a binder but can be a stepping stone to binding later.
