There are four different types of ACLs standard, extended, dynamic, and reflexive. Standard ACL: A standard ACL is all about focusing on the source address. This type of Access Control List in cyber security only takes into account the source of the enquiring user or system.
Definition and Usage. The acl statement creates a named address match list. It gets its name from a primary use of address match lists: Access Control Lists (ACLs). Note that an address match lists name must be defined with acl before it can be used elsewhere; no forward references are allowed.
Extended ACLs are required for more granular requirements, while standard ACLs are suitable for broad rules that will not need to change often.
An access control list (ACL) contains rules that grant or deny access to certain digital environments. There are two types of ACLs: Filesystem ACLs━filter access to files and/or directories. Filesystem ACLs tell operating systems which users can access the system, and what privileges the users are allowed.
In Windows there are two types of ACLs: Discretionary ACL--this is a list of zero or more ACEs that describe the access rights for a protected object. System ACL--this is a list of zero or more ACEs that describe the auditing and alarm policy for a protected object.
