To change the thickness of a font in CSS, you can use the font-weight property. This property is used to specify the weight (or thickness) of the font to be used. Common weight values are normal, bold, bolder, and lighter. You can also specify numeric weight values ranging from 100 to 900.

To change font type purely with HTML, use the CSS font-family property. Set it to the value you want and place it inside a style attribute. Then add this style attribute to an HTML element, like a paragraph, heading, button, or span tag. This approach to changing font type in HTML uses the style language CSS.
First, declare the . otf font using @font-face and specify its name and file path. The font-family property is used to illustrate that the font is to be used for all the text on the page. The file path mentioned in the @font-face rule will need to be adjusted to match the actual file address on the server.
Weight is the overall thickness of a typefaces stroke in any given font. The most common weights are regular and bold, but weights can cover extremes from the very light to the very heavy.
Note that when using relative weights, only four font weights are considered thin (100), normal (400), bold (700), and heavy (900).
Font weight system s use numbers from 100 - 900 in increments of 100, with 100 as the lightest and 900 the heaviest, the same numerical system of grades used by most common typefaces.
From what I understand, value 500 is the normal font weight, and value 700 is the default font weight for bold. However, when I put 599, it did not change the font-weight at all. But when I put 600, it jump to the default font weight of bold. Same results from value 600-900.
