Sarah Cleve and Im an admissions expert at so what is a letter of intent this is a letter that specifically states that you will accept an offer of admission from a particular school if one is extended to you over and above any other schools to which youve applied or at which you have interviewed this is one single letter sent to one single school only one school your top choice you cant send letters of intent to multiple schools this is one particular document for one particular purpose so after youve applied and hopefully going through the interview cycle usually around a month after interviews and especially if youve been wait-listed at your top choice school you can write that sch

For the most part, accepting an offer of admission is not binding. Some colleges offer early-decision admissions, which do include formal contracts, but the more common regular-decision and early-action applications typically do not require students to commit without any leniency.
While a letter of intent is not legally binding, you should never, ever send more than one. There is always the possibility of being found out by the other schools.
There are three different types of medical school letter of recommendation (LOR): Committee Letter, Letter Packet, and Individual Letter.
Medical School Letter of Intent Example Dear Dr. , I am a current applicant at The Awesome Medical School and interviewed there on October 25th. I am writing this letter to reiterate that AMC is my top choice for medical school and to update you on my accomplishments since my interview.
Although the letter of intent is not a legally binding document, the intent part of the letter indicates you plan to attend that school if you are accepted off the waitlist. If this is not the case, a letter of interest is more appropriate.
If a school is unable to confirm an applicants intention to matriculate, the school may choose to rescind the acceptance.
If you are accepted, the medical school will ask you to indicate if you will continue to hold a seat (or withdraw). A small deposit may be required. For AAMC schools, you can hold more than one acceptance, continue to interview with other medical schools, and remain on alternate/waitlists up until April 30.
The vast majority of medical schools, both MD and DO programs, employ rolling admissions. This means that from the start of the application season, applications are reviewed sequentially as they arrive. Secondaries are then sent out, and secondary responses are once again reviewed as they arrive.
