Each pixels color is defined by 24 bits. The first 8 bits encode the amount of red in the pixel, the next 8 bits encode the amount of blue, and the next 8 bits encode the amount of green. This is the RGB color scheme. because there is 0 red, 0 green, and 0 blue.
A device called an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) takes the electrical energy and converts it to a digital file for storage. The ADC samples the frequency and amplitude at a set rate. Once the music is converted to binary information (1s and 0s) it is stored as a digital file.
On the technical side, audio encoding involves sampling of the analog signal per given time (around a few milliseconds ideally), holding the sampled value, comparing it to a certain threshold voltage. The sampled voltages are then converted to binary values.
The sound is sampled using an ADC (Analog to Digital Convertor) stored as a binary value (such as 01010011) called a sample. sample rate number of samples taken per second. It is measured in kilohertz. The higher the sample rate better the audio quality as the digital data more closely resembles an analog wave.
How can sound be sampled and stored in digital form? A microphone converts sound waves into voltage changes. If a microphone is plugged into a sound card then the voltage can be sampled at regular intervals (the sample rate) and each value converted into a binary number.
The most common technique used to represent a sound is to take samples (sampling) of the sound at regular intervals. The intervals in which sampling takes place (sample rate), the duration, and the sample resolution (bit depth) all impact the sound quality and size of a file processed by the computer.
Representing sound Sound needs to be converted into binary. Also known as base 2. for computers to be able to process it. To do this, sound is captured - usually by a microphone - and then converted into a digital.
By using algorithms such as Huffman coding, binary sequences can also be used to represent text, image files, audio files, and even executable code.
