Observables are ideal for handling streams of data, such as user input, WebSocket events, or HTTP responses, where multiple values might be emitted over time. Subjects are useful for scenarios where multiple parts of an application need to communicate and react to events in real time.
A2: Use a Subject when you dont need an initial value or when you want to emit events and data streams. Use a BehaviorSubject when you need to manage component state, provide default values, or ensure that new subscribers receive the latest value immediately. next(value) - This method is used to emit a new value. error(error) - This method is used to send error notifications. complete() - This method suggests that the Subject has completed itswork. Once complete() method is invoked, calling next() or error() wont have any effect. Also, in Subject , once you emit the value, it will give the value to the subscriptions before the emission, whereas behaviorSubject will emit the values to all the subscribers. Another difference is that BehaviorSubject is about maintaining the latest state, whereas Subject is about current value emission. If you want to have a current value, use BehaviorSubject which is designed for exactly that purpose. BehaviorSubject keeps the last emitted value and emits it immediately to new subscribers. It also has a method getValue() to get the current value. How to get current value of RxJS Subject or Observable? Stack Overflow questions how-to-get-cur Stack Overflow questions how-to-get-cur
There are three types of values an Observable Execution can deliver: Next notification: sends a value such as a Number, a String, an Object, etc. Error notification: sends a JavaScript Error or exception. Complete notification: does not send a value.
next(). The observable subscribe method is used by angular components to subscribe to messages that are sent to an observable. The subject next method is used to send messages to an observable which are then sent to all angular components that are subscribers of that observable.
The Subject is a basic implementation of a subject in RxJS. It is a multicast observable that maintains a list of observers and notifies all of them when a new value is emitted using the next() method. It does not have an initial value, so subscribers only receive values emitted after they subscribe.
