to get started I just have a project here with a layer for the background layer that adjust brightness and an image of a logo now if I wanted to merge all of these together I just right-click one of them and select merge visible however Iamp;#39;m going to undo that and show you how to merge only certain layers while holding down the ctrl key on Windows or command key on Mac click to select the layers youamp;#39;d like to merge then right-click one of them and select merge layers ok and theyamp;#39;re merged my logo with my background image while leaving the brightness layer alone alright and thatamp;#39;s it for this tutorial thanks for watching and see you next time

Add to or subtract from a selection Hold down Shift (a plus sign appears next to the pointer) to add to the selection, or hold down Alt (Option in Mac OS) to subtract (a minus sign appears next to the pointer) from a selection. Then select the area to add or subtract and make another selection.
Alternatively, you can use the Cmd/Ctrl + F keyboard shortcut or choose Help Photoshop Help from the menu bar. In the Discover panel, navigate to the Browse Quick Actions and select Select subject. Click the Apply button to select the subject in your image.
Steps to use: Find the Object Selection Tool in the Photoshop Toolbar enable Object Finder in the Options bar present under the menu bar choose either Rectangle (rectangle-shaped selection) or Lasso (freehand selection) for selection click and drag around the region you want to select in rectangle mode or draw
Use Select Subject to tell Photoshop to automatically select the main subject on a layer. Then add a layer mask. The layer mask automatically hides the area that was not selectedthe background around the subject.
Make freehand selections with the Lasso tool Select the Lasso tool (L) . Use the Options bar to customize tool settings, like Add to selection, Subtract from selection, and Select and Mask, to get the effect you want. Drag to draw a selection border around the object.
The full, subject and background selections located on the right hand side of your image allow you to select what areas you wish to edit. If you feel your subject is particularly dark (or underexposed), select subject. The app will try and automatically detect your main subject for you.
Isolate objects with the Quick Selection tool Select the Quick Selection tool (W) . Use the Options bar to customize tool settings, like Add to Selection or Subtract from Selection, to get the selection you want. Click and drag the brush across the area you want to select.
