hi in this video weamp;#39;re gonna take a look at where to put access control lists first of all the standard rule is that we can only have one access control list per interface per Direction inbound or outbound and per protocol like ipv4 or ipv6 okay that said where do we place an access control list well remember that extended access control lists give us a lot more flexibility because we can filter based not only on source IP address but destination IP address so we can actually filter traffic much closer to the source not wasting bandwidth having the packet travel a long ways across our network or across multiple networks before dropping the packet if we can get it if we can drop it if we can filter that traffic as close to the source as possible then we donamp;#39;t waste as much bandwidth source or standard access control lists excuse me filter based just on source IP address so in this case we donamp;#39;t have much choice but we have to get we have to put it as close to the

Access control lists (ACLs) have a set of rules that specify what users can and cannot do within a specific digital environment. The ACL is a list of permissions that dictate what a user has access to and what types of operations they are allowed to do with that access.
Access Control List Examples. The most common examples of Access Control List include web servers, DNS servers, and remote access or VPN systems. The internal router of a DMZ contains stricter ACLs to protect the internal network from more specific attacks.
A network access control list (ACL) is made up of rules that either allow access to a computer environment or deny it. In a way, an ACL is like a guest list at an exclusive club. Only those on the list are allowed in the doors.
An access control list (ACL) is a list of access control entries (ACE). Each ACE in an ACL identifies a trustee and specifies the access rights allowed, denied, or audited for that trustee. The security descriptor for a securable object can contain two types of ACLs: a DACL and an SACL.
Access Control Lists (ACLs) The Access Control List defines the permissions and rights granted or denied to users or groups. The ACL is associated with each object and contains a list of ACEs. Each ACE specifies a user or group and their corresponding permissions for that object.
ACLs or Access Control Lists are the process by which ServiceNow provides granular security for its data and can be applied to individual records, as well as fields within those records. While you want to work with ACLs, you should know the types of ACLs.
When the switch uses an ACL to determine whether to permit or deny a packet, it compares the packet to the criteria specified in the individual ACEs in the ACL, beginning with the first ACE in the list and proceeding sequentially until a match is found.
Normally ACLs reside in a firewall router or in a router connecting two internal networks. You can set up ACLs to control traffic at Layer 2, Layer 3, or Layer 4. MAC ACLs operate on Layer 2. IP ACLs operate on Layers 3 and 4.
