Signature capture inline is a variation of the signature capture component. This variation allows users to input their signature on a screen that is shared with other components.
BIND is open source software that implements the Domain Name System (DNS) protocols for the Internet. It is a reference implementation of those protocols, but it is also production-grade software, suitable for use in high-volume and high-reliability applications.
When doing inline signing, the original zone is never modified: this allows the operator to make, for example, a dump of a DB to create the zone, and BIND will just sign it. When the unsigned zone is updated, BIND ( named ) detects the changes, and re-signs.
sig-validity-interval Specifies the number of days into the future when DNSSEC signatures automatically generated as a result of dynamic updates will expire.
Configuration Steps Create a fresh unsigned zone for a new domain. Setup the keys directory and give BIND the appropriate permissions. Update AppArmor (for those using Ubuntu) Update the primary name server to instruct BIND that we want it to sign the zone file. Update the secondary name server.
From version 9.19/9.20, Auto-DNSSEC (deprecated from versions 9.16. 36 and 9.18. 10) will be withdrawn and completely replaced by DNSSEC Policy (which supports not only fully automated (re-)signing, but also full automated key management).
