A bindrune is a symbol made up of two or more runes. These runes are bound together to form one ligature, combining their meanings to enhance their power.
The Algiz rune resembles an uppercase Y with an additional line in the middle. It symbolizes protection, defense, and spiritual growth. Algiz is associated with the Norse god Heimdallr, the guardian of the gods and the Bifrst Bridge.
The Aegishjalmur (Helm of Awe) is also known as Aegirs Helmet and is a symbol of protection and power in the form of a circle with eight tridents emanating from its center. Whoever looked upon the Aegishjalmur was frozen with terror and could be easily defeated.

A bind rune or bindrune (Icelandic: bandrn) is a Migration Period Germanic ligature of two or more runes. They are extremely rare in Viking Age inscriptions, but are common in earlier (Proto-Norse) and later (medieval) inscriptions.
The use of bind runes is not a new concept. In fact, its an ancient practice that dates back to the early use of runes as an alphabet. Essentially, a bind rune is a symbol composed of several runes overlaid, one on top of another, to form a single character.
How to Make a Bindrune Step 1: Choose your objective. What is the purpose of the symbol you want to create? Step 2: Pick Your Runes. Think about the objectives you set in step one. Step 3: Design Your Symbol. Step 4: Create Your Talisman. Step 5: Use Your New Sigil.
The protection bind rune combines two powerful runes: the splayed hand of Algiz and Sowulo, the lifeforce. Together, these runes form a single character that is believed to generate inner strength and ward off negative energies. The use of bind runes is not a new concept.
