Step 1: Stack Your Paper Neatly in (at Least 4) Piles of 8 Sheets. Step 2: Fold Each Stack in Half. Step 3: Unfold the Paper and Turn Over. Step 4: Staple the Pages Together. Step 5: Glue the Binding Onto the Folios. Step 6: Trim the Bound Folios. Step 7: Mark and Cut Out the Cover Boards. Step 8: Make the Book Spine.
Perfect Binding. Perfect Bound books are another popular method with one big difference from other options it uses an adhesive rather than wires or coils to hold the book together. Its optimal for documents in the 50-250 page range which creates enough spine thickness for a strong, squared spine.
Saddle Stitch This binding technique is perfect for books with around 100 pages or less depending on the thickness of the paper. It is done by using folded sheets stacked on top of one another. The fold is created in the middle of the sheets and then stapled together along the crease.
To bind your book with tape, first staple the pages along the crease, and then reinforce the staples with a strip of linen tape or cotton tape. For a thick book, use several layers of tape. If you want to bind with ribbon, punch holes every 14 inch (0.64 cm) along the edge of the pages.
Answer: the average reader takes about 6.9 hours to read 250 pages. You might take more or less time than 6.9 hours to read 250 pages, depending on your reading speed and the difficulty of your text. The average persons reading speed is around 300 words per minute (WPM).
Plastic comb binding is perfect for long documents. The largest combs are 2 in diameter and can bind up to 425 pages. The big combs are oval-shaped instead of circular and they have locks on them to keep your document together. Also, plastic combs come in a number of different colors.
Saddle Stitch Binding This popular method binds pages using two or more staples placed along a folded edge. Suitable for books less than 3/8 inch thickness (approx 200 pages or less), there is no printable spine with this option.
Using newsprint, you can bind up to 200 pages with saddle stitching. However, when using thicker paper the page count will be lower.
