Select Home Connector. Point to the center of a shape until you see a green outline around it. Draw a line to the center of the shape you want to connect to. Youll see a green outline around the shape when the shapes are connected. Select Home Pointer Tool to return to normal editing.
Select the shape you want to connect to another shape. From the Arrow icon on either side of the shape, select and drag the shape preview on top of the shape you want to connect to.
Using the Selection Tool (V), select all of the overlapping shapes by clicking and dragging across them. In the Pathfinder panel, click on Unite from the left of the top row.
Press and hold CTRL while you click the shapes, pictures, or other objects to group. You will need to select more than one shape, picture or object in order to enable the Group button.
Press and hold Shift to select multiple shapes. The Shape Format tab appears. Note that it only appears when a shape is selected. On the Shape Format tab, click Merge Shapes, and then pick the option you want.
Click and drag to select all of the shapes. Go to the Shape Design tab, choose Operations, and then select Union. The shapes will now be united into one single shape.
