Add text to a shape Click Insert Draw Text Box . Draw a text box close to the shape. Click inside the text box, and start typing.
To change the text box shape: Select the text box you want to change. The Format tab will appear. From the Format tab, click the Edit Shape command. Hover the mouse over Change Shape, then select the desired shape from the menu that appears.
Add text to an AutoShape The shape is automatically selected. On the Drawing Tools tab, in the Insert Shapes group, click Edit Text. Type the text that you want. To change the text formatting, select the text, click the Home tab, and then change the font, size, color, or any other attribute that you want to change.
Select the shape in Visio that you want to adjust. Go to the Text tab. From the drop-down menu, select Position. Choose the option Left of Shape to position the text to the left of the shape.
Select the Connector tool from the Home tab in Visio. Click on the text box, then drag the connector to the circle to establish a connection. Adjust the connectors position and routing style as needed. Test the connection by moving the text box or circle.
Double-click the connector. A text box appears. Enter your text in the text box. When you are done, click outside the text box.
Connect shapes by using AutoConnect Point at a triangle in the direction where you want to add a new shape. On the mini-toolbar that appears, select the shape you want to insert. The new shape is added to the diagram and automatically connected to the original shape.
Select the shape that you want to link. On the Insert tab, in the Links group, select Hyperlink. Next to Address, click Browse, and select the drawing you want to link to.
