hey guys so by the time youamp;#39;re watching this i will have already released my free pattern um for this quilt this is anne shirleyamp;#39;s flower garden and i will have also already released a tutorial on quilt binding by hand and so iamp;#39;m going to make kind of an additional video to both of these and show you how i am binding these edges that have hexagon points i decided to not cut um the side of my quilt off to make it straight and leave the hexagons to be full hexagons so now i have to do some finagling with this binding and i thought if any of the rest of you wanted to do that then iamp;#39;ll just make this really quick video showing you how iamp;#39;m doing that first of all i am assuming that you already know the basics of how to attach your binding on here um if you donamp;#39;t you can go watch my tutorial um for it on my youtube channel but this iamp;#39;m going to just assume a basic level of binding knowledge when iamp;#39;m showing you guys this okay so

Merge shapes Select the shapes you want to merge: press and hold the Ctrl key while you select each shape in turn. On the Shape Format tab, in the Insert Shapes group, select Merge Shapes to see a menu of merge options. Select the Merge option you want.
Group shapes, pictures, or other objects Press and hold command while selecting the shapes, pictures, or other objects to group. The Wrap Text option for each object must be other than In line with Text. For more info, see Wrap Text. Go to Shape Format or Picture Format, and then select Group. Group. If Group.

The Group button is unavailable Only one shape or picture is selected. Make sure you have multiple shapes or pictures selected. You cant use the Group tool with SVG icons . To group SVG icons, you have to convert them to shapes first.
Hold down the Shift key while you click two or more shapes that are touching or overlapping. In the Format sidebar, click the Arrange tab. Click an arrangement button at the bottom of the sidebar: Unite: Combines the selected shapes into a single shape.
Make sure to select all the shapes you want to merge before using the Merge Shapes or Combine Shapes feature. Check that the shapes youre trying to merge can actually be merged using the Merge Shapes feature. Some shapes might not work together.
