Procedure Create a secret that contains the wildcard certificate and key: $ oc create secret tls \1 --cert= \2 --key= \3 -n openshift-ingress. Update the Ingress Controller configuration with the newly created secret:
The oc apply or oc create command with the -f or --filename option can be used to create the secret using the template JSON or YAML file. The oc replace command can be used to replace a secret using a new or updated template JSON or YAML file. The oc edit command can be used to update a secret template YAML file.
The Secret object type provides a mechanism to hold sensitive information such as passwords, OpenShift Container Platform client configuration files, dockercfg files, private source repository credentials, and so on. Secrets decouple sensitive content from the pods.
There is no need to escape the special characters included in a files string. You can then view the secrets details using the kubectl describe secret db-user-pass command. By default, the kubectl get and kubectl describe commands do not reveal the contents of secrets to prevent their accidental exposure.
OpenShift supports a number of different secret types to securely store sensitive data: kubernetes.io/service-account- uses a service account . kubernetes.io/dockercfg uses the dockercfg file for required Docker credentials.
Procedure From your local client, log in to OpenShift as a cluster administrator. Convert the new content store password to base64. Identify the secret object that is used for the content store. Edit the secret that you identified in the previous step. Restart the Cognos Analytics pods.
Use your CloudProvider-Identity to authenticate against any SecretStore you like. If you CloudProvider does not support that, SealedSecrets can be a effective way to get an initial Secret into the Cluster. Use ExternalSecretsOperator to synchronize all other Secrets to ETCD.
Create the Secret Convert the strings to base64: echo -n admin | base64 echo -n 1f2d1e2e67df | base64. Note: Create the manifest: apiVersion: v1 kind: Secret metadata: name: mysecret type: Opaque data: username: YWRtaW4= password: MWYyZDFlMmU2N2Rm. Create the Secret using kubectl apply : kubectl apply -f ./secret.yaml.
