Fabric sealant and fabric glue is a quick and easy way to prevent fraying on your crafting project. Used often to fix sequins and embellishments, while fabric glue is effective it wont provide docHub strength. Avoid using glue to stop fraying if you need the fabric edge to hold fast under pressure.

Wrap your binding around the raw edges so it is now on the right side of the fabric. Press it, ensuring that the amount of binding visible is even all along the edge. It should just cover the previous line of stitching. Top-stitch the remaining folded edge in place, stitching as close to the folded edge as possible.
To sew a bias bound seam: A Take a length of bias binding and place along the edge you will be finishing (right sides together) - lining up the raw edges. Pin in place. Stitch binding in place with a 6mm (in) seam allowance (this will be just inside of the first crease line on the binding).
To finish the raw edges of your applique, you edge-stitch them (stitch along the edge). You can use a straight-stitch, small zig-zag, blanket stitch, satin stitch or other decorative stitch for this purpose.
Lets explore different methods to turn frayed raw edges into refined, long-lasting seams using available tools and some sewing expertise. Use Zigzag Stitches. Use a French Seam. Sew a Flat Fell Seam. Use Binding. Finish the Seam with Tape. Hand Overcast Seams. Create a Scalloped Fabric edge.
Glue your edges with fabric glue, seam sealant, or super glue. Purchase any one of these adhesives at a local craft store or online. Simply place small dabs of glue along the edge of the fabric. Use a cotton swab or toothpick to spread the glue evenly.
