Hi welcome to the Final Stitch. Im Natalie. And today were going to talk about adding an easy machine binding to your quilt. Natalie: Thank you so much for all of your great comments. Weve had some questions recently about finishing your quilt by machine. And so today were talking about two really easy ways to do that. So Liz, what is our first question? Liz: Well our first question comes from Brenda Bixsler. She says, I love your videos, Natalie, they are really helping me. Id like to see a video on machine binding. I have so much trouble when I machine bind, as when I bring it around to the front to sew, Im way off on the back. So please help. Natalie: That is a great question, Brenda. So we have, one of the really easy things that I love to do is flange binding. Flange binding gives you this little edge so that you can stitch in the ditch and have a really straight line to follow. And that helps a lot. Liz: So its kind of like faux piping, righ

To use a bind variable in SQL Server, you use the @ symbol before the variable name. Using our sample query for cases, it would look like this: SELECT caseid, casename, casestatus, createddate FROM submittedcases WHERE assignedtoid = @userid; The userid is provided when the query is run.
Bind variables typically relate to SQL queries (they can be used in dynamic PL/SQL code, but thats not good practice!), and are a placeholder for values within the query. Unlike substitution variables, these are not prompted for when you come to compile the code.
After the declaration of bind variable in SQL* Plus, we can access that variable, or we can say that reference the bind variable in Pl/SQL by using a colon (:) immediately followed by the variable name. In the above example, we first type a colon (:) immediately followed by the variable name.
You simply have to write a command which starts with keyword VARIABLE followed by the name of your bind variable which is completely user defined along with the data type and data width. Thats how we declare a bind variable in Oracle database.
Bind variables are a means of parameterizing SQL statements so that the statements have question marks or parameters in their where clauses, such as: SQL server: select count (*) from report where tenant = @tenant.
Bind parametersalso called dynamic parameters or bind variablesare an alternative way to pass data to the database. Instead of putting the values directly into the SQL statement, you just use a placeholder like ? , :name or @name and provide the actual values using a separate API call.
Use a bind variable in PL/SQL to access the variable from SQL*Plus. Bind variables are variables you create in SQL*Plus and then reference in PL/SQL. If you create a bind variable in SQL*Plus, you can use the variable as you would a declared variable in your PL/SQL subprogram and then access the variable from SQL*Plus.
If you have the sqlid of the sql query , then you can get the bind values of the bind variables, from v$sqlbindcapture.
